Phase 3 | TRAVEL | People, Art & Culture
Offer a unique and custom travel experience to your members as they discover the art, culture, living and workplaces of our partner artisans. See how the products, exclusively design for your museum and gift shop are created. Get to know the artisans who create each piece and see first-hand the design and creation process, as well as the impact and challenges of supporting the artisan sector in some of the most remote communities around the globe. Learn from artisans who have perfected their traditional craft over thousands of years, and help to break down borders by sharing culture and connecting people.
DONATE TO SUPPORT ARTISAN & CULTURAL EXCHANGE, AND PRESERVATION OF TRADITIONAL ART
OUr ARTISAN SCHOLAR, January 29 & 30th, 2019
A huge thank you to our partner artisan Ana Mesia from Santiago, Guatemala, The National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington DC and partner non-profit La Puerta Abierta Learning Center for making Conversation, Creativity and Culture happen! We were honored to host Ana for this unique opportunity of cultural exchange, preservation of traditional craft, learning, and professional development. For those who missed it, Ana demonstrated her craft on the traditional mayan backstrap loom, taught us how to embroider, and shared with us the cultural importance and history of the beautiful designs, which today inspire our Living Threads Co. products.
